The “House Critters” Look out the window

Rainy Reindeer was in the dining room looking out the big window when he saw something the rest of the house critters had to see.

Rainy trotted through the dining room and living room then went between the big sliding doors into the antique room. He didn’t know what the name meant, but it is what the humans called it. Henrietta Bobbie Bunny was the eldest of the critters and she was in a rocking chair with Blue Booby. Big Bunny was in another rocker with Ducky Duck. They were having a rocking chair race, which Big Bunny and Ducky were leading.

Rainy had to jump up and down a few times to get their attention and tell them to follow him. He went out to the dining room with all of them chasing after him. Rainy jumped up on the cedar chest and as the rest of them got up on the chest they saw why he had wanted them to join him. There were three full sized deer munching on stuff growing around the base of the big tree. Rainy said, “Is that what I will look like when I grow up?”. Henrietta told Rainy that all of them were already grownups, but being critters they did not have to act like grownups. While they were talking one of the deer came over to the window and looked at them with big brown eyes. They did not know what to do, so they waved which was quite funny when done with paws, webbed feet, and hooves.

The deer seemed to understand as it nodded its’ head before joining the others. They munched a while longer and then ran to the back of the yard and jumped over the fence into the woods. The critters were still looking out back when Blue Booby said to look over by the garage. When they did both bunnies started to hop around and yell at the window while speaking bunny talk, as there were two real bunnies in the flower bed nibbling on their lettuce.  The real bunnies either did not hear them or just ignored them, as they knew the house critters would not come outside to chase them. All this activity had tired the critters out. They went into the living room, got up on the couch, found pillows, and took a nap!
